“Behind the Scenes” Tour of Detroit’s Historic Masonic Temple
Wednesday, November 10, 2021 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The Book Club of Detroit is pleased to announce that members and guests can participate in a tour of the world’s largest Masonic Temple. This is a rare opportunity to visit many areas usually inaccessible to the public.
Please make your reservations as soon as possible. A charge of only $15 per person will benefit the not-for-profit library, archives and research arm of the Temple.
Designed by George D. Mason & Company architects, construction of the Temple was completed in 1926. The large complex includes a 14-story ritual building and a 10-story wing for Shriners International, a Scottish Rite Cathedral, two ballrooms and seven “Craft Lodge Rooms,” each with its own unique decorative treatments, including Egyptian, Corinthian, Renaissance, Gothic, and Romanesque styles.
Please RSVP to Marcia McBrien at BCDrsvp73@gmail.com or text or call her with your name and reservation at 313-300-2149 (texts preferred).
Checks may be sent to our treasurer, Maurice Barie at P.O. Box 20377, Ferndale, MI 48220 or pay the day of the event.
