Show and Tell

Although we had a smaller group than usual at our June “Show and Tell,” those present really enjoyed sharing some of their special books and ephemera with each other. We had a great time conversing and stayed longer than the scheduled time. With the generous donations and purchases at the silent auction, we added to the “treasury.”

C. Hedger Breed III showed a book on Coats of Arms.

David Head told us all about the real “Long Ranger” or at least the inspiration behind the legend.

George Hagenauer brought several interesting items including these original art pieces used for illustrations in books. The second one is from A Wrinkle in Time.

Dan Freidus has switched from collecting books on coins to specialized cookbooks.

Maurice Barie also showed us this book on Backgammon. He has not found this edition in any backgammon bibliographies.

Charlene Kull talked about her recent book on Hogarth obtained at Schmidt’s recent book auction, as well as her two volumes (Cosmos) written by Alexander Von Humboldt.

Paul Schoch taxed our brains while explaining the philosophy in Science and Sanity.

Maurice Barie holds up a book recently bound by bookbinder member, Jon Buller, as Paul Schoch looks on. Note clam shell box Jon also crafted.
