The Book Club of Detroit is an association of Detroit-area bibliophiles who assemble periodically for the purpose of stimulating a mutual interest in books, manuscripts, and prints, specifically those aspects concerned with collecting, bibliography, design, production, publishing, photography, conservation, and preparation. Our chief aims are to further the interests of book collectors and to promote an understanding and appreciation of fine books and printing as well as modern technological advances.

Issues of Speaking of Books: Our current member, Paula Jarvis, co-edited these newsletters with member Kay MacKay. Kay was a long-time member of The Book Club of Detroit and editor of Speaking of Books for two decades.
